Case Study: Real Estate Financier The client had a suite of tailored models for raising finance on behalf of property owners and developers. There are confidentiality issues and there is no need for extensive model redevelopment. The client has a particular need to be able to come into line with other banks' calculation methods from time to time, so the models have to be flexible with regard to how rent and interest is calculated, amongst other things. What was needed was the best way to apply BF's real estate functions for rent, breaks, TI's, interest and lease information. We worked with a series of extracted sheets from the models, finetuning them in some cases and demonstrating techniques in others, to make the formulae that employed Business Functions more robust, faster and more flexible. If required, we added an option here or there to the core BF library, where the need for a certain facility was exposed. The client very much developed their own model, but used modelling structures we were able to supply.
